Brittany Thomfohrda (Cushing, Wis./Unity), who joined the University of Wisconsin Superior on the soccer field for the first time this season after playing for the Yellowjackets' softball team previously, netted her first collegiate goal but UWS fell 3-1 against border rival the College of St. Scholastica in a non-conference match on the road in Duluth on Tuesday afternoon.
The Yellowjackets (1-10-0) held the Saints scoreless through the first half as junior goalkeeper
Bailey Henderson (Oakdale, Minn./North St. Paul H.S.) made five saves in the opening frame. CSS (7-6-2) would begin the scoring just six minutes after halftime as Kirsten Olsen scored on a free kick from the top of the box at the 51:38 mark. The Saints needed only six more minutes to score again, this time with Peyton Bacso burying a crosssing past from Janelle Rouillard that gave the home team a 2-0 lead. Rouillard would add a second assist on the day when Taylor Rozmark scored moments after her own corner kick as Rouillard kicked the ball back to her for two-touch score.
Thomfohrda broke up the shutout attempt by the Saints' Roni Rudolph with just 45 seconds remaining on the clock when she deflected a
Liza Shelquist (Pine Island, Minn./Pine Island H.S.) pass off a St. Scholastica defender for the score. Rudolph would finish with five saves to pick up the victory, while Henderson took the defeat despite making 10 saves for the Yellowjackets. CSS out-shot UWS 18-11 for the contest.

The Yellowjackets will celebrate "Dogtoberfest" Saturday with fans encouraged to bring their pooches to the Yellowjacket Soccer Complex as the team hosts Martin Luther College in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference action. Opening kick is set for 3:15 p.m. following the men's contest.
