The University of Wisconsin Superior could not slow the Blazers of the College of Saint Benedict as the Yellowjackets fell in straight sets in non-conference action at Mertz Mortorelli Gymnasium on Friday night.
The too-tall Blazers matched up well against the front line for UW-Superior (7-17), forcing the Yellowjackets to hit just .097 for the match. Each team collected six blocks on the evening, but St. Benedict (10-9) had 47 kills while holding UWS to just 29. The Blazers hit .282, rolling to victories of 25-19, 25-16, and 25-21. The Yellowjackets had their strongest performance of the night in game three, but could not sustain their offense as the two teams went back-and-forth. An early five-point run for Saint Benedict proved to be the different.
