The University of Wisconsin Superior could not right the ship in its final travel stop during the 2016 season as the Yellowjackets fell in straight sets against Hamline University on in St. Paul, Minnesota on Monday night.

Despite the 3-0 final, UW-Superior (7-22) battled through the first two sets with Hamline (11-9), falling 25-12 in the opener but battling through extra points as Hamline escaped with a 29-27 victory. The two teams battled through four set points in the second, but a three-point swing by the Pipers opened up the score to 2-0. That gave Hamline the momentum it needed as the home team rolled to a 25-12 victory in the third set.

Freshman outside hitter Brylee Colligan (Bemidji, Minn./Bemidji H.S.) had a team-high 11 kills for the Yellowjackets. Three players topped ten kills for the Pipers, led by Beth Goodman's 13. Sophomore setter Emily VerWay (Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Simley H.S.) had a double-double with 25 assists and 13 digs for UWS. Morgen Colemen had 36 assists and 10 digs for Hamline while Amelia Jensen led all players with 24 digs.
