Luck was on its side, but the University of Wisconsin Superior may not have needed it as the Yellowjackets shut out the University of Minnesota Morris 2-0 on Saturday afternoon on the road in Morris, Minnesota.

UW-Superior (5-6-0, 4-0-0 UMAC) made it five straight victories by knocking off the Cougars in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference action. The Yellowjackets struck first in the waning seconds of the opening half when freshman forward Eric Watson (Thunder Bay, Ont./Hammarskjold H.S.) played a pass from sophomore defender Harry Simpson (Derby, England/Derby Moor C.C.) towards the net, and a Morris defender tried to clear but ended up fumbling the ball into his own net for an own goal at the 44:52 mark of the match.

UWS would tack onto its lead midway through the second half, when sophomore midfielder Mualigbe Keita (Brooklyn Park, Minn./Prairie Seeds Academy) corraled a pass from senior forward Ryan Wisdom (Hayward, Wis./Hayward) and re-directed it to the back of the net at the 71:25 mark of the match. The scoring was all that senior goalkeeper Ben Wilhelm (Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater Area H.S.) needed as he pitched the shutout against UM-Morris (2-9-0, 2-3-0 UMAC), needing just two saves with the Yellowjackets out-shooting the Cougars 17-3 in the match.
