A three-goal opening period pushed the No. 2-ranked St. Norbert College past the University of Wisconsin Superior in a 4-0 victory for the home team on Friday night in De Pere, Wisconsin.

UW-Superior (3-4-0) has now fallen in three-straight after winning of 3-of-4 to start the season. The Yellowjackets have just five victories against St. Norbert (6-1-0) since the 2002-03 season. The Knights were led by goaltender T.J. Black whose fourth consecutive shutout matched an NCAA Division III record.

St. Norbert scored just 1:01 into the game when Blake Thompson netted an unassisted tally. He added an assist on the Knights' second goal just over two minutes later when Sean Campbell put the Knights up 2-0. A powerplay goal pushed the lead out to three at 7:40, this time with Roman Uchyn scoring with an assist from Brad Pung. SNC also added a short-handed tally in the second period with Noah Nelson scoring assisted by Steven Phillips to push the game to its 4-0 final.

The Knights finished with 38 shots while holding UW-Superior to 11 shots on the night. St. Norbert was 1-for-5 on the powerplay. The Yellowjackets finished 0-for-6.

UW-Superior will be back on the road Saturday night in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin to take on Marian University. The puck will drop for the Yellowjackets and Sabres at 7:00 p.m.
