The University of Wisconsin Superior scored first, but the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point came back with a goal late in each of the second and third periods as the Pointers knocked off the Yellowjackets 2-1 in Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play on Saturday afternoon at Wessman Arena in Superior, Wisconsin.
Freshman forward
Molly Shelton (Pine Island, Minn./Pine Island H.S.) scored the third goal of her career for UW-Superior (4-4-0, 1-1-0 WIAC) on the powerplay in the second period, putting the Yellowjackets up at 15:58 assisted by senior forward
Hailey Adair (Brooklyn Park, Minn./Champlin Park H.S.) and junior defender
Maggie Cragg (Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park H.S.). UWS finished 1-for-6 on powerplay chances, but surrendered a short-handed goal to Maggie Ingbretson at 19:48 of the second period. She was assisted by Alex Grubbs and Lexi Englund to knot the game at 1-1 heading to the second intermission.
UW-Stevens Point (3-3-1, 1-1-0 WIAC) made good on its first powerplay goal of the match-up with Maddie Schlossmacher putting them up by one at 13:48 of the second. The Pointers were 1-for-5 with the skater advantage. Ellie Punnett and Mackenzie Kratch had assists for Schlossmacher.
Adair had five shots to lead the Yellowjackets, while Shelton was one of three with four shots for UW-Superior. Sydney Codney made 34 saves in the victory for the Pointers, while senior
Kim Kobar (The Pas, Man./Margaret Barbour Collegiate) had 21 saves while suffering the tough-luck loss for the Yellowjackets.

UW-Superior will be back in action on Tuesday night as the team travels to St. Peter, Minnesota to take on Gustavus Adolphus College. The puck drops between the Yellowjackets and Gusties is set for 7:00 p.m.
