The University of Wisconsin Superior took game one of its bridge rivalry series against The College of St. Scholastica on the road Friday night as the Yellowjackets knocked off the Saints 4-1 in Duluth, Minnesota.
UW-Superior (5-6-0) rolled to a 3-0 lead at the first intermission and kept St. Scholastica (5-5-1) at arm's length the rest of the way. Junior forward

Leah Elledge (Brooklyn Park, Minn./Champlin Park H.S.) extended the lead to three at 13:58 with her first of the year.

Amanda Coey (Brandon, Man./Crocus Plains H.S.) added an assist on Elledge's score and then came back in the second period with her second of the year. Coey scored on the powerplay for the Yellowjackets at 8:32 of the period with an assist from junior defender
Abby Constant-Bercier (The Pas, Man.). The Saints broke up the shutout in the third period when Kennedy Houge scored at 8:37 of the third, getting an assist from Alexia Klaas.
UW-Superior finished 1-for-2 on the powerplay, while St. Scholastica was 0-for-5 with the skater advantage. Senior
Kim Kobar (The Pas, Man./Margaret Barbour Collegiate) made 20 saves to pick up the victory for the Yellowjackets. Lindsey Hartfield made four saves in a start for the Saints, before being relieved by Lexi Thomeczek for the final 45:43 who made 16 stops.
