Hamline University stepped out to an early lead and held on for a 10-1 victory against the University of Wisconsin Superior in the team's 2016 season debut in St. Paul, Minnesota on Thursday afternoon.

Bailey Henderson (Oakdale, Minn./North St. Paul H.S.) made six stops in the opening 45 minutes while the Pipers held the ball in their own offensive end, taking four corner kicks but also being called twice for taking the ball off-sides.

Liza Shelquist (Pine Island, Minn./Pine Island H.S.). Siri Parker earned a hat trick on the day to lead the Pipers, scoring in the 25th, 37th, and 71st minutes. Arendje Louter also had a pair of scores and added an assist.
Henderson finished with nine saves on the afternoon for the Yellowjackets. Hamline's goalkeeper Amy Ramras made one save in the victory.
