Bethel University scored four second-half goals to surge past the University of Wisconsin Superior on Saturday afternoon, knocking off the Yellowjackets 5-0 at Ona Orth Stadium in Arden HIlls, Minnesota.
UW-Superior (0-3-0) was held without a shot in the first half, but junior goalkeeper
Bailey Henderson (Oakdale, Minn./North St. Paul H.S.) made six stops, sending the Yellowjackets to the locker room down just 1-0. Bethel's Maggie Sipe broke the tie at the 34:20 mark of the first half with an assist by Brooke Ogne. The Royals collected 35 shots in the match, including 21 on goal.
The shots caught up to UW-Superior in the second half, as Bethel (3-1-1) got a pair of goals by Mikayla Nordin, the first just 1:10 out of the break, another by Sipe, and a dagger by Alicia Halikas that put the Royals up 5-0 with just under seven minutes remaining.
