The University of Wisconsin Superior had a mid-week defensive effort spoiled for the second-straight Wednesday as the Yellowjackets fell 1-0 against Northland College in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference action on the road in Ashland, Wisconsin.
UW-Superior (0-7-0, 0-3-0 UMAC) mustered eight shots in the game, the most for the Yellowjackets all season, including four on goal, but LumberJIll goalkeeper Emily Romauld pitched a shutout for Northland ( ). Junior goalkeeper
Bailey Henderson (Oakdale, Minn./North St. Paul H.S.) also made four saves for UW-Superior, while Northland totalled 12 shots on the day. Three different LumberJills had at least three shots, including Kayla Voldberg, who tallied the lone score on the day in the 33rd minute.

Liza Shelquist (Pine Island, Minn./Pine Island H.S.) had two shots to lead the Yellowjackets. Freshman
Tatum Lardinois (Suamico, Wis./Bay Port H.S.) had a shot stymied in the 87th minute as UWS pressured late, but Romauld was able to make the final preventative play.

UW-Superior will return home this Saturday afternoon as the team plays host to Crown College in UMAC action. The Yellowjackets and Storm will kick off at 2:00 p.m., preceding the men's contest at the Yellowjacket Soccer Complex.
