Yellowjackets nearly double up Crown in dominant win

The University of Wisconsin Superior continued to build on its Upper Midwest Athletic Conference winning streak as the Yellowjackets dominated Crown College 74-40 on Saturday afternoon at Mertz Mortorelli Gymnasium.

In two different quarters, UW-Superior (12-4, 8-0 UMAC) allowed just single digits scoring from the Storm, with Crown (0-16, 0-8 UMAC) netting just four points in the second quarter and eight in the fourth. Despite that, the Yellowjackets' highest scoring deficit came in the third when they out-scored the Storm 27-11. UWS shot 65.0 percent, knocking down 13-of-20 shots in the period, as the Yellowjackets would roll to victory.

For the third-straight game, freshman forward Eva Reinertsen (Duluth, Minn./Homeschooled) led UW-Superior offensively, scoring 15 points in the game while sophomore forward Hannah Norlin (Litchfield, Minn./Litchfield H.S.) and junior guard Brittany Laehn (Gilmanton, Wis./Gilmanton H.S.) each had 13 points. The Yellowjackets had 11 different players score while 15 saw the court. Norlin and junior forward Bailee Bartunek (Audobon, Minn./Lake Park-Audobon H.S.) had a team-high seven rebounds for UWS. Senior guard Molly Greenfield had nine points for Crown, as the Storm shot just 28.3 percent for the game, knocking down 15-of-53 chances while turning the ball over 32 times. The Yellowjackets were not pretty on the turnovers either, giving the ball away 19 times but had 20 assists and 17 steals for comparison. UW-Superior shot 48.5 percent for the game.
