The University of Wisconsin Superior remains a perfect 10-0 in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference season, defeating the University of Northwestern 72-43 on Saturday afternoon at Mortorelli Gym in Superior.
The Yellowjackets jumped on the Eagles early, leading 10-1 six minutes into the contest and 14-6 after the opening quarter. UW-Superior (14-4, 10-0 UMAC) never trailed in the game, turning over Northwestern (11-7, 7-3 UMAC) 30 times on the afternoon as they rolled to a 29-point victory. First-year forward
Eva Reinertsen (Duluth, Minn./Homeschooled) led all scorers with 16 points off the bench for the Yellowjackets. Sophomore
Hannah Norlin (Litchfield, Minn./Litchfield H.S.) had 12 points and eight rebounds, while Tiffany Stubbs had a team-high 10 points for Northwestern.
UWS led by a game-high 31 points at 7:50 of the second period, getting 38 points off the bench as the Yellowjacket reserves played much of the second half.
