SUPERIOR, Wis. (October 14, 2017) – Superior won their sixth straight game as they swept the Martin Luther Knights 25-14, 25-20, 25-17 in front of a Parents Weekend crowd.

Superior tied the first set early at 6-6 after an attack error from the Knights, and then take a 7-6 lead when Ashley Runck (Lakeville, Minn./Apple Valley) killed the ball, assisted by Emily VerWay (Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Simley). They continued to hold the lead, going up 18-10 on a ferocious kill from Mara Cameron (Grand Rapids, Minn./Grand Rapids), again assisted by VerWay. A bad set from the Knights would end the set, 25-14.

Martin Luther would fire back in the second set, going up 7-5 after an attack error from the Yellowjackets, But Superior would get a kill from Anna Ribich (Biwabik, Minn./Mesabi East), assisted by VerWay and then an error from the Knights to tie at 8-8. Superior then stepped on the gas, going up 17-12 after Leah Nightingale (Dayton, Minn./Benilde-St. Margaret's) notched a kill, assisted by VerWay. The 'Jackets would take the set, 25-20 on back-to-back errors from Martin Luther.

The 'Jackets were clicking in the final set, going up 7-3 on another VerWay to Ribich kill. They would continue to hold the lead at 15-11 on attack error from the Knights, and then Brylee Colligan (Bemidji, Minn./Bemidji) would get a VerWay assisted kill to go up 16-12. Superior would score three straight points to win the set and the match 25-17.
