UW-Superior 4, Crown 0

ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. (October 7, 2017) – The Yellowjackets scored four goals for the fourth time this season as they downed the Crown Storm on the road.

Four different Yellowjackets scored on the day, beginning with Eric Watson (Thunder Bay, Ont./Hammarskjold) who was assisted by Jon Bucklew (Somerset, Wis./Somerset) at the 6-minute mark. Shortly after, Nick Piazza (Fitchburg, Wis./Madison West) had an unassisted rocket from just beyond the 20-yard line that gave Superior the 2-0 lead around the 14th minute. James Bruce (Gladstone, Mich./Gladstone) joined the fun late in the first period as he scored on a Mason Tynsky (Rochester, Minn./John Marshall) pass; this ended the first period, Superior up 3-0.

The Yellowjackets scored once more in the game, as Miguel Ocampo (St. Louis Park, Minn./St. Louis Park) netted his first collegiate goal unassisted in the 72nd minute.

Superior outshot the Storm 30-5, and produced five corner kicks to Crown's zero. Dalton VonKaenel (Eagan, Minn./Eagan H.S.) had to make only one save in his 90 minutes in goal.

Superior will play again on the road tomorrow, traveling to Winona, Minn. to take on non-conference opponent St. Mary's at 3 p.m.
