Last Week's Highlights
- The University of Wisconsin Superior men's track & field team continues to maintain a stranglehold on the Field Athlete of the Week honor as senior Thomas Udenberg (Cloquet, Minn./Cloquet H.S.) won his second honor of the past three weeks, marking six straight for the Yellowjackets.
- Spring seasons are right around the corner! UWS ranked second in the UMAC Preseason Softball Coaches Poll, released Wednesday. The UMAC Preseason Baseball Coaches Poll will be released Thursday.
- First-year forward Kaleigh Martinson (Dayton, Minn./Champlin Park H.S.) scored 27 seconds into overtime to give the Yellowjacket women's hockey team a 3-2 victory, its fifth-straight, on Wednesday night.

Men's Basketball (6-17, 5-9 UMAC)
- UW-Superior played just one game last weekend, falling 83-74 to the College of St. Scholastica on Saturday afternoon in Superior. The defeat knocked the Yellowjackets from playoff contention, but UWS will have a chance this weekend to make an impact on the final Upper Midwest Athletic Conference standings. Friday night, the Yellowjackets will travel to Crown College, a team that they defeated 84-74 earlier this season on January 14 in Superior. The Storm also sits at 5-9 in the UMAC this season. Saturday, UW-Superior travels to take on the University of Minnesota Morris. The Cougars are 8-6 in the league and have clinched the final playoff spot but fell 85-76 to the Yellowjackets earlier this season on January 13.

Women's Basketball (19-4, 14-0 UMAC)
- After besting its bridge rival the College of St. Scholastica 94-72 last Saturday at Mortorelli Gym, UW-Superior will hit the road this weekend looking to lock up not only its second-straight UMAC Regular Season Title but a second-straight undefeated conference season, but both will be put to the test this weekend. Friday, the Yellowjackets meet Crown for the second time this season, having defeated the Storm 74-40 earlier this year in Superior on January 14. UWS will wrap up a share of the conference title with a victory on Friday night, but the undefeated season and top seed in the conference tournament may be on the line as the team meets Minnesota Morris, the current second-place team in the conference whose only defeat came 81-72 at the hands of the Yellowjackets in Superior on January 13. Next Wednesday night, the Yellowjackets will host the winner of the first round game in the semifinals of the UMAC Postseason Tournament at Mortorelli Gym.

Men's Hockey (7-16-2, 1-6-1 WIAC)
- UW-Superior went 0-1-1 during its final weekend of the regular season, falling to the No. 7 University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire last Friday night in the regular season finale in Superior. The Yellowjackets will be on the road to start the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Commissioner's Cup Tournament taking on the University of Wisconsin Stout this Friday and Saturday night in the first round.  UWS posted a 1-1-0 record against the Blue Devils this season, defeating UW-Stout last time out 4-2 on January 27.

Women's Hockey (12-13-0, 2-7-0 WIAC)
- After defeating Northland College on Wednesday night, the Yellowjackets will be off this weekend. UW-Superior will take on the No. 3 University of Wisconsin River Falls in the first round of the WIAC O'Brien Cup Tournament next Friday and Saturday, February 24-25.

Softball (0-0)
- With the UMAC Preseason Poll released earlier this week, UW-Superior will be prepaing to open its season next week at the Finlandia University Dome Tournament in Marquette, Michigan. UWS will take on four regional foes over the weekend Friday through Sunday, Feb. 24-26.

Men's and Women's Track & Field
- The Yellowjacket men and women claimed five first-place finishes and several other highlights last weekend at their home Yellowjacket Open in Superior. This week, UW-Superior will be on the road for an evening meet Friday night as the Yellowjackets compete at Bemidji State University's Beaver Twilight in Bemidji, Minnesota.
