The University of Wisconsin Superior could not keep its good fortune going as the Yellowjackets fell 5-1 to the top-seeded and third-ranked University of Wisconsin Stevens Point in game one of the teams' Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference semifinal series on Friday night in Stevens Point, Wisconsin.
No. 3 UW-Stevens Point (19-4-3) jumped out to an early lead, scoring on the powerplay just 4:28 into the game with Willem Nong-Lambert performing the honors. The Pointers out-shot UW-Superior (8-18-2) 9-to-1 in the opening frame, but the Yellowjackets would get on the board in period number two. Senior

Ian Ecklund (Twig, Minn./Proctor H.S.) and senior
Anton Svensson (Sodertalje, Sweden/Igelstavikens Gymnasium). Unfortunately, Stevens Point would score three times in the third, pulling away from UWS in the final frame. Just six seconds before the closing whistle, Kelly O'Brien tapped in a dagger score.
