The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh scored four early runs and held on to hand the University of Wisconsin Superior its first defeat of the 2017 season on Saturday afternoon at the Finlandia Dome Classic in Marquette, Michigan.
Sophomore first baseman Kaitlyn Krol knocked in the first two runs of the day for UW-Oshkosh (3-0), plating runs in each of her first two plate appearances to give the Titans an early lead. First-year lefty Clare Petrus (1) came on to toss the final three innings for UW-Oshkosh, holding the Yellowjackets scoreless on two hits in three innings. Petrus and Robbe each collected three strikeouts on the day. First-year right-hander
Megan Pehrson (Grand Rapids, Minn./Grand Rapids H.S.) worked a complete game for UW-Superior, striking out eight while allowing just three earned on nine hits. Freshman infielder
Bobbi Jean Miller (Oak Grove, Minn./St. Francis H.S.) went 2-for-2 with a walk to lead the Yellowjackets at the plate. UW-Superior mustered just six hits as a team.
