SUPERIOR, Wis. (September 13, 2017) – The Yellowjackets fell 4-0 in their home opener against former WIAC opponent UW-Stout Blue Devils.  

The Blue Devils scored early, going up 1-0 in the third minute on a goal from Sydney Kasper, followed by a penalty kick in the 18th minute to put Stout up 2-0, and would be the final goal of the half for either team.

The Blue Devils found the goal again early in the second period in the 52nd minute and again the 59th minute.

Superior had a tough time controlling the ball in the game against an aggressive Stout defense, which resulted in zero shots or corner kicks. Head coach Allison DeGroot was able to mix in players at different positions, allowing the team to build chemistry as they head into the conference portion of their schedule.

The Yellowjackets will open UMAC play this weekend as they travel with the men's team in a double-header against Minnesota Morris at 4:15 p.m.
