NORTHFIELD, Minn. (September 15, 2017) - The
Yellowjackets fell victim to the Carleton College Knights three sets to none.
Brylee Colligan (Bemidji, Minn./Bemidji ) recorded a team-high seven kills in the loss.
The first set was tight, with only two points separating the teams throughout the set. The 'Jackets closest opportunity was after a Colligan kill that put them up 22-20, but the Knights came back to win 25-23.
The Knights came out firing in the second set, going up 9-3 and then taking the set 25-10.
The final set was the 'Jackets best opportunity, going up 8-7 after a service error from the Knights.
Mackenzie Dahlin (Kaukauna, Wis./Kaukauna ) led the Yellowjackets middle of the set on four serves that put them up 20-18. The Knights prevailed scoring three straight points to win 26-24.
Emily VerWay (Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Simley) had 12 digs followed by Dahlin with 10. VerWay also added 22 sets on the night.
The 'Jackets will head to Bethany Lutheran tomorrow to compete in a UMAC tournament taking on North Central and host Bethany Lutheran.
