SUPERIOR, Wis. (September 19, 2017) – The Yellowjackets grabbed two more conference wins Tuesday as they hosted the St. Scholastica Saints and Northland Lumberjills in the Mertz Mortorelli Gymnasium in a triple header triangular.
The 'Jackets first match of the night was a tight one with Scholastica. The teams traded points until
Brylee Colligan (Bemidji, Minn./Bemidji ) notched a kill assisted from
Emily VerWay (Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Simley) to get a two-point, 23-21 lead.
Ashley Runck (Lakeville, Minn./Apple Valley ) would secure the first set (25-21) with a kill assisted again from VerWay.
The second set turned around for Superior after a timeout and a tying 17-17 kill from Runck that was assisted by VerWay. The match would end with another 25-21 score with the Yellowjackets on top.
Scholastica took the third set 25-15, but Superior would come storming back in the fourth, tying the game once again at 17-17 on a Scholastic error.
Karlie Leif (Bemidji, Minn./Bemidji) would help from the service spot to get Superior three straight points and gain a 20-18 lead. The 'Jackets would come out on top to take the convicted UMAC win.

The second set would be closer, ending 25-22, but the third would be a 10-point win 25-15.
