Martin Luther 2, UW-Superior 0
SUPERIOR, Wis. (September 23, 2017) – After an 80 minute delay, women's soccer took on the Martin Luther Knights, but the 'Jackets were defeated by the Knights 2-0.
The Knights scored in the 38th minute after a late penalty call in the box resulted in a penalty kick goal for Lydia Bitter. The first half ended with the Yellowjackets down 1-0.
The Knights scored again in the second half, going up 2-0 in the 51st minute.
Superior played well in the game, including getting eight shots off, including three shots on goal from
Emma Street (Oak Grove, Minn./St. Francis). The 'Jackets played a variety of players at different positions, as
Hailey Kontny (Superior, Wis./Superior) made her way from defense up to forward by the end of the game. The team was also good in their passing game, finding players in space, but the team just couldn't find the net.
The 'Jackets will be on the road all of next week, starting their road trip at Northland College on Wednesday Sept. 27. Game time set for 4:15 p.m.
