UW-Superior 4, Northland 0

ASHLAND, Wis. (September 27, 2017) – Superior got back to for today as they beat the Northland Lumberjacks 4-0 on the road. Four different Yellowjackets scored in the route.

Danny Kearns (Greenock, Scotland/Clydeview Academy) was the first to score in the game in the 27th minute assisted from Jon Bucklew (Somerset, Wis./Somerset), scoring his first goal in almost a month. The 'Jackets found themselves up 1-0 at the half.

Jonah Garcia (Eagan, Minn./Eagan H.S.) was the next 'Jacket to score in the 57th minute of the second half, assisted by Harry Simpson (Derby, England/Derby Moor C.C.) who recorded his first point of the season from the defensive line. Felix Blick (Linkoping, Sweden/Katedralskolan) then scored his first goal of the season in the 75th minute, assisted by Elliot Chapman (Lancaster, England/Ripley St. Thomas). Leonardo Paredes (Campinas, Brazil/Sao Paschoall) then scored less than two minutes later to cap off the blowout for the 'Jackets; he was assisted by James Bruce (Gladstone, Mich./Gladstone).

Superior played well on both sides of the ball outshooting the Lumberjackets 27-6, including 19 shots on goal. Dalton VonKaenel (Eagan, Minn./Eagan H.S.) played 78 minutes in goal, saving six shots. Urik Lager spent the last 12 minutes in goal for the 'Jackets, getting his first action of the season.

The Yellowjackets will continue their road trip this weekend, heading to Bethany Lutheran this Saturday, Sept. 30 for a 2 p.m. contest.
