ST. PAUL, Minn. (April 20, 2018) – Superior suffered two losses Friday evening to the Northwestern Eagles, one of which came 10-inning, one-run contest.

Mitch Coulson (Thunder Bay, Ont./Hammarskjold) found the start on the mound and followed up with a quick three-out inning to hold the lead.
The Eagles used the bottom of the second to take a two-run lead on two hits, which would hold to the top of the fifth. Alex Osness (Wausau, Wis./Wausau West) found the first-base bag on a balk to begin the inning, and then with two outs, Rolf tripled to center to score Osness, making 4-3 Northwestern.
The Yellowjackets bounced back in the top of the eighth when Matthew Boyde (Chanhassen, Minn./Minnetonka) drove in the game-tying run with a double, and then Ryan Castaneda (San Pedro, Calif./Junipero Serra) singled up the middle to score Boyde. Superior held a 5-4 lead after eight innings.
