WATERTOWN, Minn. (May 6, 2018) – The Yellowjackets secured the no. 5 seed in the UMAC Tournament Sunday night in their final UMAC doubleheader vs Crown College.

Game 1

The Yellowjackets wasted no time in the first inning. Jordan Berrios (Watertown, Minn./Watertown-Mayer) would score on a single from McNosky to left field, followed by a Cory Albertson (Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater) double to score McNosky. The doubles continued as Matthew Boyde (Chanhassen, Minn./Minnetonka) brought home Albertson, and then a passed ball scored Braeden Barr (San Diego, Calif./Grossmount) from third. Brandon Rolf (Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater) would finish off the inning with a single that scored Boyde from second. It was 5-0 'Jackets after one.

The Storm would get two runs on hits from Gideon Dunn in the first and third innings, but C. Albertson would change the game with his tenth home run of the season in the fifth, followed by Rolf who sacrificed to right to score Barr. It was a 7-2 game.

C. Albertson added to the lead once again in the seventh inning, jacking the ball over the fence for an 8-2 game. Colin Welch (Acton, Calif./Golden Valley) added to the lead on a single, scoring Barr and Rolf for a 10-3 game after seven full.

Game 2

Crown scored first in the bottom of the first for a 1-0 lead, but Alec Rabin (Deerfield, Ill./Deerfield) soon changed that with a hit that forced an error to score Stephen Albertson (Stillwater, Minn/Stillwater) and Ryan Castaneda (San Pedro, Calif./Junipero Serra) in the second. The Yellowjackets played base-to-base in the third, paying off with a Cameron Lee (Durban, South Africa/Kearsney College) walk to score Jason Steinke (Sebeka, Minn./Sebeka) who had walked to begin the inning.

The Storm fired back with two runs in the third to tie the game at 3-3.
