The Eagles (14-12, 3-5) tied it at 1-1 in the top of the second inning. Chad Wakabayashi singled and moved to second on an error by Berrios at second base. Wakabayashi advanced to third on a groundout, scoring on an
Auggie Anderson (Mendota Heights, Minn./Henry Sibley) balk.
Northwestern took a 2-1 lead in the third when Sam Peterson launched an Anderson 1-0 offering over the fence in left field for a solo shot.
Braeden Barr (San Diego, Calif./Grossmont) then lifted a sac fly to left to score Berrios with one out in the bottom of the inning to make it 2-2. Berrios began the frame with a double to left and stole third base.
That's the way it stayed until the top of the eighth. Peterson singled through the left side with one out off of Anderson and moved up on a wild pitch. Anderson fanned Aaron Krahn, but he reached on another wild pitch. Peterson went to third on the play and came home prior to Krahn stealing third and being tagged out at the plate.
The 'Jackets had two baserunners in the bottom of the ninth as Osness singled to short and, with one out, Fredrikson walked. Bradley Spencer, though, struck out Berrios and induced a foul pop from Rolf to end the game and earn his six save of the season.
