SUPERIOR, Wis. – Sophomore goalkeeper
Madison Gutekunst (Mound, Minn./Mound Westonka) made nine saves, including seven in the second half and overtime, as the UW-Superior women's soccer team earned a 0-0 tie against Finlandia at NBC Spartan Sports Complex Wednesday.
The match was the Yellowjackets' second scoreless draw of the season with the other coming at Lakeland Sept. 7. The shutout was Gutekunst's second of the season and eighth of her career. UWS moved to 1-2-2 on the season while Finlandia is 4-1-1.
Finlandia held a 19-9 advantage in shots in the match, 14 of which came in final three periods. The Superior backline, anchored by senior
Kaylie Johnson (Amery, Wis./Amery), held strong to keep it scoreless throughout.

Hailey Miller (Hayward, Wis./Hayward) had one each.
Kirsten L'Esperance fired a match-high six shots with three on target, to lead the Lions. In the goal, Sam Linteo made one save for Finlandia for her fourth shutout of the season.
The 'Jackets are back in action Sunday at 3:30 p.m., hosting Concordia (Minn.).
