SUPERIOR, Wis. – Bethel scored three times in a span of 3:28 the first half and went on for a 6-0 win over the UW-Superior women's soccer team at NBC Spartan Sports Complex Wednesday.
 
Sophie Kendall paced the Royals with two goals and an assist as BU improved to 7-0-0 on the year. Bethel entered the match ranked No. 6 in the region in the latest United Soccer Coaches rankings and showed why.
 
The Royals received goals from five different players and six scored points to top the Yellowjackets, who were playing their third match in four days.
 
Lauren Davis opened the scoring 19:32 into the match with a left-footed goal off the left post and in past UWS goalkeeper Madison Gutekunst (Mound, Minn./Mound Westonka). Just over a minute later, Brooke Ogne made it 2-0, assisted by Rachel Waterman. Then, in the 23rd minute, Claire Radatz finished a Sophie Kendall cross for a three-goal advantage.
 
Waterman buried the rebound of a Davis shot in the 58th minute, before consecutive tallies from Kendall in the 64th and 69th minutes accounted for the final margin.
 
Kaylee Peterson stopped one shot on the night for her second shutout of the season. Gutekunst went the distance in the net for UWS, making a career-high 20 saves. Gutekunst's previous high was 17 saves from established Sept. 22, 2018 against Northwestern.
 
The Yellowjackets (1-5-2) are off until Sunday when they open Upper Midwest Athletic Conference play hosting Northland at 4:30 p.m.
