Vid Milenkovic (Zurich, Switzerland/DSB Belgrade (Serbia)) and freshman
Eli Vogel (Appleton, Wis./Appleton West) scored 20 points apiece as the UW-Superior men's basketball team dispatched Northland, 89-49, at Mertz Mortorelli Gym Wednesday.

The Yellowjackets shot 51.7 percent from the field for the game, including 60 percent in the second half to win going away and sweep the season series with the LumberJacks. Milenkovic grabbed seven rebounds and handed out four assists. Freshman
Mason Ackley (Superior, Wis./Superior Senior) added 12 points and a game-high-tying eight rebounds to go with three steals and two blocks.

UWS (12-7, 9-1 UMAC) led, 43-27, at the half and broke the game wide open in the final 20 minutes as Northland (4-15, 1-9) missed its first six shots from the field in the second half. Superior used a 22-5 run in that span to take a 65-32 advantage with 12:43 remaining.

In all, 19 'Jackets saw the floor with 11 scoring. Freshman
Xavier Patterson (Superior, Wis./Superior Senior) just missed the first double-figure scoring game of his career with nine, while seniors
Allen Anderson (Brooklyn Park, Minn./Osseo) and
Mac Reykdal (Washburn, Wis./Washburn) chipped in with seven points each.

The 'Jackets outrebounded Northland, 38-29, and forced 18 turnovers to create 23 points. UWS tied a season high with 20 assists on 30 baskets.

Up 13-5 on a Vogel layup 4:23 into the game, Superior reeled off a 7-1 – with four points from Milenkovic and three by Ackley – for a 20-6 advantage. Milenkovic added a three-point play at the 7:56 mark for a 26-12 score. The 'Jacks cut the lead to 31-23 on a pair of Devyn Frye free throws with 4:35 left in the half, but that was as close as they got.

The lead ballooned to as many as 42 at 82-40 with 4:47 remaining in the game when Patterson rebounded a Northland miss, laid the ball up and in, drawing contact. He knocked down the ensuing free throw.

UWS scored 24 points on the break and received 23 from its bench.

Frye paced Northland with 16 points in 22 minutes off the bench.
