MORRIS, Minn. – The Yellowjacket men's soccer team just keeps on rolling.

Entering play Saturday, the Yellowjackets had scored 34 goals in just five games, an average of 6.8 goals per game. On the other end, they'd allowed just six, or an average of 1.2 goals per game. And remember, five of those goals against came in last Saturday's overtime win over Bethany Lutheran.

Both averages will come down a little after Saturday's results, as the Yellowjackets rolled to a 5-0 win over Minnesota Morris at Big Cat Stadium in Morris.
With the win, the Yellowjackets remain perfect on the year, going 6-0 overall and 5-0 in UMAC play, where they currently occupy the top spot in the conference standings.

The Yellowjackets attempted 16 shots in the opening half, compared to just one for Morris, but things were still tight early. Fortunately for the Yellowjackets, they were able to break through in the opening frame to take the lead.

Miguel Ocampo (St. Louis Park, Minn./St. Louis Park) opened the scoring for the Yellowjackets at 11:35, converting on a free kick to make it 1-0. Ocampo, who is supremely skilled in the art of the free kick, blasted a shot off the crossbar and in for his fourth goal of the year.

It stayed that way until after halftime, when the Yellowjackets blew the match open.

Just over two minutes into the frame the Yellowjackets increased their lead.
Blake Doyea (Ramsey, Minn./Anoka) got a rebound on the doorstep and scored his third of the year at 47:02. Ocampo and
Protus Babaya (Elk River, Minn./Elk River) assisted.

At 57:20 the lead increased again. This time it was
Mason Tynsky (Rochester, Minn./John Marshall) scoring his fourth of the year to make it 3-0. Tynsky took a cross from the right side of the box and scored into the right corner of the goal. Babaya and
Archie Gjerdrum (St. Paul, Minn./Como Park) assisted.

The Yellowjackets made it a 4-0 match in the 71st minute when
Pontus Tavemark (Taeby, Sweden/Taeby Enskilden Gymnasium) picked up his second of the year, getting a rebound and scoring from about six yards out. Tynsky and
Blake Hanson (Superior, Wis./Superior Senior) assisted.

Then, with just 3:02 to play the Yellowjackets closed out the scoring at
Phillip Eriksen (Skjetten, Norway/Lorenskog) scored his sixth of the year, finishing from the right side of the box to make the final score 5-0.
Brandon Conklin (Superior, Wis./Superior Senior) assisted on the goal.
The Yellowjackets attempted 29 shots in the match, while Morris attempted seven. Shots on goal favored the Yellowjackets 13-3.

Ulrik Lager (Vollen, Norway/Asker VGS) was back in goal for the Yellowjackets Saturday and earned the shutout and the win, making three saves. Lager is now 3-0-0 on the year and has posted two shutouts.

The Yellowjackets are back in action Wednesday, April 21 when they travel to St. Paul, Minnesota for a match-up with Northwestern. The opening kick is set for 5:00 p.m. at the Eagles' Reynolds Field.
