SUPERIOR, Wis. --Â Antonio Lima's 65th-minute goal gave Bethany Lutheran a 1-0 victory over the UW-Superior men's soccer team in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference action at he NBC Spartan Sports Complex on Saturday.

With the top-two teams in the UMAC locked in a stalemate, Lima found space in the UWS defense, took a pass from Agostino Quadrio Curzio and ripped a shot from deep that beat UWS sophomore goalkeeper
Alex Paredes (Mequon, Wis./Homestead) to the top right with 64:46 on the clock. The 12th goal of the season for Lima gave Bethany Lutheran (11-2-3, 8-1-1 UMAC) the top spot in the conference standings with 25 points, two more than Superior.

UWS (9-3-2, 7-1-2) applied pressure, pushing for the equalizer, but Bethany's Nick Lundberg was up to the task in turning a sophomore
Harry Ambler (Reading, England/Little Heath School) shot in the 73rd minute away. Lundberg then stopped a drive from senior
Brandon Conklin (Superior, Wis./Superior Senior) in the 85th to secure the win.

The Vikings held a 17-13 advantage in shots. The 'Jackets had five corner kicks, compared to two for BLC.

Lundberg improved to 5-1-0 with the shutout, making six saves. Paredes made four saves and  fell to 8-2-2  with the loss.

UWS plays its final non-conference match of the regular Tuesday at St. Scholastica. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m., at Saints Field.
