SUPERIOR, Wis. -- Sophomore Mya Holmquist (Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo) scored two goals and two assists and junior Niya Wilson (Superior, Wis./Superior Senior) added a goal and three assists as the UW-Superior women's soccer team exploded for five goals in the second half in a 6-0 shutout of Crown in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference semifinals on Wednesday.

With the win, the Yellowjackets (14-3-4) advance to their third consecutive conference final and will host second-seeded Northwestern Saturday at 3:30 p.m., at the NBC Spartan Sports Complex. The Eagles were 1-0 winners against Bethany Lutheran in the other semifinal on Wednesday.

Leading, 1-0, at halftime on a rocket from junior Allison Alessi (Shakopee, Minn./Prior Lake) in the ninth minute, Superior buried the Polars in the final 45 minutes. Wilson scored her 10th of the season just 55 seconds into the second half with a pass from Alessi, making it 2-0. Then, 10 minutes later, Holmquist converted a cross from Wilson for a 3-0 lead.

Sophomore Ava Giswold (Duluth, Minn./Proctor) scored her fourth goal of the year on a rebound in the 63rd minute with Holmquist and Wilson earning assists before Holmquist scored her team-leading 17th in the 82nd minute from Wilson and freshman Brynne Crystal (Plymouth, Minn./Wayzata) for a 5-0 lead.

Freshman Abby Randall (North Branch, Minn./North Branch Area) capped the scoring in the 88th minute with her first collegiate goal off of a corner kick from senior Kenzie Oehlerking (Farmington, Minn./Farmington Area).

Sophomore goalkeeper Jenna Lang (Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial) made four saves, collecting her sixth clean sheet of the season to improve to 11-2-2. Crown goalie Riley Breitlow (1-7-2) made 11 saves in the loss.
