FOND DU LAC, Wis. --Â The UW-Superior women's hockey team scored three goals in a span of 89 seconds midway through the third period, and junior goaltender
Rose Beeman (Minneapolis, Minn./Benilde-St. Margaret's School) made 27 saves, in a 3-0 shutout of Marian at the Blue Line Family Ice Center on Tuesday.

Beeman earned her second shutout of the season and the third of her career, helping UWS halt a five-game losing streak, and improve to 5-7 on the season.

The Yellowjackets broke open a scoreless game in the third, getting goals from sophomore
Cora Coz (Elk River, Minn./Elk River) at 9:05, junior
Evelyn Andrade (Boise, Idaho./California) at 9:36 and sophomore
Gaby Andreacchi (Thunder Bay, Ontario/St. Patrick) at 10:34 -- all at even strength -- for the win.

Coz flipped a shot from the right point that found its way through traffic and Marian goalie Kayla Kolpitcke (32 saves) at the near post. The second goal of the year for Coz was assisted by junior
Andrea Stelling (Sioux Falls, S.D./Eaton Rapids (Mich.)) and freshman
Cailey Davidson (St. Cloud, Minn./Apollo). Andrade scored 31 seconds later, on a slapper from the right circle. Senior captain
C.C. Hayes (Fort Frances, Ontario/Fort Frances) and junior
Jordann Swingle (St. Cloud, Minn./Cathedral)Â assisted on Andrade's first UWS goal.

Andreacchi banged in the rebound of a shot from classmate
Emma Booth (Brainerd, Minn./Brainerd) less than a minute later for the final margin.

UWS outshot the Sabres (0-8-0), 35-27, on the day. The Yellowjackets went 0-for-4 on the power with six shots, while Marian was 0-for-3 with six of its own.

Superior is off until Jan. 7 when it travels to Houghton, Mich., to take on Finlandia in the first two games at the Houghton County Arena.
