SUPERIOR, Wis. – Four different skaters scored goals and freshman goaltender Molly Black (Devils Lake, N.D./Devils Lake) picked up her first collegiate shutout as the UW-Superior women's hockey team opened the final weekend of the regular season with a 6-0 WIAC win over Northland on Friday.

Freshman Ella Reynolds (South St. Paul, Minn./South St. Paul Secondary School) and senior Amanda Sergent (Eagle River, Wis./Northland Pines) each scored two goals as the Yellowjackets set a season high as a team. UWS (8-12-1, 3-4-0-1 WIAC) scored two goals in the first period, one in the second and three in the third for their 14th consecutive win against the LumberJills.

Black made four saves for the shutout, Superior's fourth of the season. The 'Jackets dominated Northland (1-21-1, 0-11-0), outshooting the visitor, 56-4.

Sergent opened the scoring with an unassisted tally at 8:49 of the first period and Reynolds doubled the lead at 15:55 with assists from Darbie Mattson (Atikokan, Ontario/Atikokan) and Andrea Stelling (Sioux Falls, S.D./Eaton Rapids (Mich.))

Reynolds' second of the game – and third of the season – made it 3-0 at 6:04 of the second period from classmate Brynn MacLean (Wilcox, Saskatchewan/Athol Murray College of Notre Dame)

Emma Booth (Brainerd, Minn./Brainerd) scored the third of her season from Tessa Jorde (Thief River Falls, Minn./Lincoln) at 5:58 of the third. Sergent added her team-leading 11th from Katie Montrose (Byron, Minn./Byron) and Jenna Curtis (Webster, Wis./Webster) at 7:45 and Kailey Swerhun (Thunder Bay, Ontario/St. Ignatius) scored from Gaby Andreacchi (Thunder Bay, Ontario/St. Patrick) at 16:06 for the final margin.

Teagan Johnson started in the Northland net, making 11 stops before being relieved by Soleil Archambeault (39 saves).

The teams close the series with a 2 p.m. faceoff at Wessman Arena on Saturday.
