MINNEAPOLISÂ -- The top-seeded UW-Superior men's tennis team topped No. 4 Minnesota Morris, 5-0, in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference semifinals Friday at Baseline Tennis Center, grabbing its second consecutive berth in the conference championship match.

The Yellowjackets (15-5) face second-seeded Northwestern for the opportunity to advance to the NCAA tournament for the first time in program history Saturday at 1 p.m. The Eagles topped Bethany Lutheran, 5-3, in their semifinal. UWS has won the last four matches in the all-time series against UNW.

On Friday, UWS swept doubles play as
Keisuke Sato (Fukushima, Japan/Fukushima) and
Michael Janes (Bismarck, N.D./Legacy) shut out Carver Hammond and Ryan Sajulga, 8-0, on court two,
Andre Luiz de Melo Guedes (Brasilia, Brazil/Centro de Ensino Médio Paulo Freire) and
Gergo Potz Nagy (Budapest, Hungary/Veres Pálné Secondary Grammar School) topped Nick Garmen and Matt Gearou, 8-2, at No. 1, and
Jace Gilbertson (Menomonie, Wis./Menomonie Senior) and
Gus Rasmussen (Ashland, Wis./Ashland) beat Kenny Knudson and Will McBee by the same score on three.Â

In singles, Luiz de Melo Guedes beat Garmen, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 2 and Gilbertson beat Hammond by the same count at No. 5 to clinch the match.
