EAU CLAIRE, Wis. -- Junior forward Phillip Eriksen (Skjetten, Norway/Lorenskog) scored for the third time in two matches on Tuesday, giving the UW-Superior men's soccer to an early lead, but UW-Eau Claire scored three unanswered goals for a 3-1 win at Bollinger Field.

Ericksen finished off a feed from sophomore Mackie Ringrose (Ewhurst, England/St Peter's Catholic School) at the top of the 18-yard box at the 12:08 mark of the opening half.

The Blugolds (6-0-0) knotted the match through Nathan Donovan in the 19th minute with assists from Will Heinen and Scott Hanson. Donovan put the ball home from just outside the six-yard box, high into the center of the next for his fourth goal of the season.

Just 1:18 later, Heinen scored his second of the season from Carter Thiesfeld on a strike from the outside the penalty area for the game-winning goal.

Donovan put the match out of reach with the 87th minute with his second goal of the night, assisted by Jacob Sampson, for the final margin.

The Blugolds had 54 percent of the possession throughout, and outshot UWS, 18-10. Eau Claire put nine shots on target, compared to four for the Yellowjackets.

Sophomore goalkeeper Alex Paredes (Mequon, Wis./Homestead) fell on 2-1-0 on the season with the loss, while making six saves. UWEC's Spencer Banks turned aside three shots for the win, improving to 4-0-0.
