RIVER FALLS, Wis. --Â Second-ranked UW-River Falls defeated the UW-Superior women's hockey team, 12-1, at Hunt Arena in Thursday night WIAC action.

The high-powered Falcons scored three goals in the first period, five in the second and four more in the third to improve to 15-2-0 overall and 6-0-0 in the league. Sophomore
Emma Booth (Brainerd, Minn./Brainerd) scored the Yellowjackets' goal at 8:26 of the second period on a deflection over the shoulder of UWRF goalie Jordan O'Keefe.
Jenna Hoops (Woodbury, Minn./Visitation School) and
Veda Roeske (Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater Area) assisted on the goal that made it 6-1.

Five different players scored two goals apiece for UWRF, while Maddie McCollins finished with six points on two goals and four assists. Alex Hantge and Abigail Stow (two goals, two assists) each scored four points. Emma Schmitz and Megan Goodreau (two goals, one assist each) and Madison Lavergne (one goal, two assists) had three points.

UWRF outshot Superior, 64-13. Sami Miller picked up the win in net, stopping the three shots she saw in the first 21:29. O'Keefe played the final 37:35, stopping nine shots.

Rose Beeman (Minneapolis, Minn./Benilde-St. Margaret's School) absorbed the loss for UWS, while making 21 saves, before giving way to
Molly Black (Devils Lake, N.D./Devils Lake), who turned 31 aside.

River Falls finished 3-for-8 on the power play and Superior was scoreless in three opportunities with an extra skater.
