SUPERIOR, Wis. --Â Sophomore
Tea Boerner (Owatonna, Minn./Owatonna Senior) won the 3,000-meter run as the UW-Superior women's track and field team hosted the Twin Ports Open at the Dr. Lydia C. Thering Fieldhouse on Saturday.

Boerner won the event in 12:27.19, leading to other Yellowjackets in the race. Freshman
Cora Hudella (North Branch, Minn./North Branch Area) was third in 13:03.28 and junior
Jeanna Scanlon (Park Falls, Wis./Chequamegon) was fifth in 13:31.93.

Senior
Alexxa DeQuevedo (Silver Bay, Minn./William Kelley) finished second in the 60-meter hurdles in 29.51 while
Jess Newman (Wanamingo, Minn./Pine Island) was sixth in 36.49.

Kasha Hughlett (Maple, Wis./Northwestern) was third in the weight throw in 14.42 meters and
Emma Erickson (International Falls, Minn./Falls) was 10th with a mark of 11.74 meters in 11.74 meters. Hughlett was also 10th in the shot put at 9.98 meters.

Halle Barker (Superior, Wis./Superior Senior) finished fifth in the 800 meters in a time of 2:44.72.Â

DeQuevedo added an eighth-place finish in the long jump at 4.66 meters. Freshman
Myla Volk (Wabeno, Wis./Wabeno) was 10th in the event with a leap of 4.46 meters. Volk was also 10th in the high jump at 1.37 meters.

Colleen Claude (Centuria, Wis./Homeschool) placed ninth in the 400 meters at 1:03.77.

UWS returns to action next Friday and Saturday in the Warren Bowlus Open at UW-Stout at 3 p.m., and noon, respectively.
