Women’s Track and Field Sets 12 Personal Records at UW-Stout

MENOMONIE, Wis. -- The UW-Superior women's track and field team posted 12 personal records Saturday on the second day of the Warren Bowlus Open at UW-Stout.
 
Senior Alexxa DeQuevedo (Silver Bay, Minn./William Kelley) finished fifth overall in the pentathlon with 2,584 points. She was fourth in the 60-meter hurdles (9.80 seconds) and high jump (1.44 meters), sixth in both the shot put (8.55 meters) and 800 meters (2:52.71). Finally, DeQuevedo finished seventh in the long jump (4.42 meters).
 
Freshman Colleen Claude (Centuria, Wis./Homeschool) ran fifth in the 400 meters in 1:03.09 for a personal record. Classmate Cora Schmitz (Luck, Wis./Unity) posted a pair of PRs in the 60- and 200-meter dashes, respectively. She clocked 8.78 seconds in the 60 for 12th place and 30.18 in the 200 for 31st overall.
 
In the weight throw, senior Kasha Hughlett (Maple, Wis./Northwestern) was sixth with a mark of 14.99 meters, an indoor season PR. Freshman Hannah Baker (Aurora, Minn./Mesabi East) had a PR of 11.88 meters, finishing 18th overall. Sophomore Kenzie Tuura (Iron River, Wis./Northwestern) was 20th with a PR of 11.55 meters. 
 
Freshman Hailey Bault (Saukville, Wis./Grafton Senior) registered a PR in the shot put at 7.60 meters, tying for 21st.
 
Sophomores Halle Barker (Superior, Wis./Superior Senior) and Tea Boerner (Owatonna, Minn./Owatonna Senior) each collected personal records in the 3,000-meter run with times of 11:26.80 (26th) and 12:29.35 (36th).
 
Classmate Meagan Berg (Tomahawk, Wis./Tomahawk) turned in a PR in the mile run in 6:01.37 for sixth place. 
 
Freshman Brooke Petrich (Keewatin, Minn./Greenway) was 14th overall in the pole vault at 2:08 meters and classmate Myla Volk (Wabeno, Wis./Wabeno) had a personal record in the triple jump of 9.39 meters for eighth place.
 
The Yellowjackets return to action next Saturday in the Lake Superior Challenge at St. Scholastica. Events begin at 11 a.m.
