COLFAX, Wis. – After completing a historic run and securing the program's first ever Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Championship two weeks ago, the Yellowjackets competed in the NCAA Division III women's cross country regionals.

The Yellowjackets are no stranger to Saturday's course, having ran it earlier in the season while host UW-Eau Claire hosted the Blugold Invitational. Whitetail Golf Course is rated as the toughest course for the entire campaign and the Yellowjackets fared well, as nearly every runner improved their six-kilometer time.

UWS finished the race with a 23rd place finish out of 31 teams, featured by various teams receiving regional and national ranking.

Leading the Yellowjackets in ranking was Cora Hudella (North Branch, Minn./North Branch Area), who finished the six-kilometer course with a 23:36.8 and in 68th place, which was nearly a minute faster than her previous time in the campaign. Halle Barker (Superior, Wis./Superior Senior) followed, clocking a 24:18.1 finishing in 101st place.

Tea Boerner (Owatonna, Minn./Owatonna Senior) clocked a 25:06.0 on the afternoon, besting her previous course time by 42 seconds and finishing in 135th. Lilley Smith (Ironwood, Mich./Ironwood High School) finished in 170th with a 26:21.4, improving her previous Whitetail Golf Course time by almost a full minute. Not far behind Smith was Meagan Berg (Tomahawk, Wis./Tomahawk) with a 26:42.8 6k time.

Kimmie Downing (Ontario, Wis./Brookwood) ran the course for the first time this season and finished with a 26:58.2. Rounding out the 'Jackets on the afternoon was Aubrey Peterson (Kasson, Minn./Kasson-Mantorville), clocking a 27:30.3 for a 196th place finish.

The College of Saint Benedict's Fiona Smith finished the afternoon securing first place with a 20:42.2 race time. Carleton College led the team rankings, finishing in third, sixth, eighth, ninth and 22nd place.
