MORRIS, Minn. – The Yellowjacket women's cross country team commenced the 2026 campaign Friday, taking on the Cougar Twilight hosted by Minnesota Morris. Following the race, the 'Jackets came in third place collectively among a field of Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) competition.
Meet Notes
- Amelia Olson (Sturgeon Lake, Minn./Moose Lake) and Lilley Smith (Ironwood, Mich./Ironwood) each finished in seventh place individually, crossing the line at 29:00.9.
- Lillianna Jones (Portage, Wis./Portage) followed in 13th place, garnering a race time of 30:18.1.
- Brooklynn Kolm (Barron, Wis./Barron) took 14th place after clocking a 30:25.5 before Veronica Jones (Foxboro, Wis./Homeschool) rounded out the 'Jackets with a 36:22.2.
- The Eagles of Northwestern led the field with a collective score of 19.
The Yellowjackets are back in action next Saturday where they take on the St. Olaf Invitational. The race is set for 10 a.m. at the St. Olaf Cross Country Course in Northfield, Minn.
