MEQUON, Wis. – The UW-Superior women's tennis team dropped a tough, non-conference match Saturday afternoon, falling to Concordia University Wisconsin at the Mequon Elite Sports Club.
The Yellowjackets (1-6, 0-1 UMAC) fell to the Falcons 8-1.
Jessi Kukowski (Duluth, Minn./Hermantown) accounted for the lone win for the Yellowjackets Saturday. The freshman earned the victory at No. 6 singles, dispatching Kaylee Frerking in straight sets by scores of 6-2, 6-2. The victory improved Kukowski to 2-0 in singles play in 2023.

Shelby Hanson (Albert Lea, Minn./Albert Lea Senior) made a strong run at No. 3 doubles before falling to Mya Werning and Peyton Morgan 4-8.
At No. 4 singles,
Brooke Wilfong (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Tech) played a strong match before ultimately falling in straight sets to Mia Andrae 4-6, 3-6.
The Yellowjackets return to action Sunday when they take on Wisconsin Lutheran in Jackson, Wis. The matches will begin at 9:30 a.m. at Pleasant Valley Tennis and Fitness Club.
