SAINT PAUL, Minn. - The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) announced Wednesday afternoon changes to the softball schedule for this coming weekend's crossover event.
The changes were made through a vote of the conference's athletics directors, in an attempt to keep all of the same teams at the same site and at the same field for an entire day. The moves also are an attempt to eliminate any travel between sites on the same day for all teams.
The updated schedule does still keep the same four opponents for each team over the two days, so it will also still leave the same three opponents remaining for each team at the season's later crossover event, scheduled for April 28-29 in Morris, Minn.
For UW-Superior, the changes results in the following schedule:
Friday, April 14 at Crown College
10 a.m. vs. Crown College (Field 1)
2 p.m. vs. Minnesota Morris (Field 1)
Saturday, April 15 at Northwestern
10 a.m. vs. Northwestern
2 p.m. vs. North Central
All contests played this weekend will be conference games and count toward conference standings and statistics.
