SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The outdoor track and field season is marching on, and the Yellowjacket women continue to make strides as they gear up for the 2023 Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships, which are just a couple weeks away.

Saturday, the Yellowjackets were in St. Paul to compete at the Holst Invitational, hosted by Concordia St. Paul. And despite the tough weather and tougher competition, the Yellowjackets finished the day with a number of strong showings.

Leading the way for the Yellowjackets Saturday was
Tea Boerner (Owatonna, Minn./Owatonna Senior). The sophomore finished the day with a new personal record in the 5,000-meter run, coming in with a time of 21:00.49, which placed her sixth.

Staying on the track,
Kenzy Kreuzer (Stoddard, Wis./De Soto) had a top-ten finish in the 400-meter hurdles, placing eighth with a time of 1:26.68. Freshman
Riley Wilson (Eagle River, Alaska/Eagle River), who two weeks ago was named UMAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week, came in 10th in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 13:43.30, which established a new personal record.

Other personal records on the track Saturday came from
Cora Hudella (North Branch, Minn./North Branch Area) (1,500 meters) and
Janae Widiker (Superior, Wis./Superior Senior) (100 meters).

Sidney Bader (Milltown, Wis./Unity) set a pair of personal records in the field events Saturday. In the javelin, Bader had a throw of 24.85 meters. She also posted a new PR in the shot put, with a heave of 10.35 meters.

Hannah Baker (Aurora, Minn./Mesabi East) set a new personal record in the hammer throw, while
Cieyana Carter (Brooklyn Park, Minn./Champlin Park) landed a new PR in the long jump. Additionally,
Emma Erickson (International Falls, Minn./Falls) set a new season best in the hammer throw.

In all, the Yellowjacket women finished the day with eight personal records.

Next up for the Yellowjackets is the most local race on the 2023 calendar. The Yellowjackets will compete at the Minnesota Duluth Bulldog Open Friday, April 28. Events will start at noon at Malosky Stadium on the UMD campus.
