SUPERIOR, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Superior women's soccer program released its schedule for the 2023 season in an announcement Monday. After winning the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) regular season and tournament championships in 2022, head coach Allison DeGroot and her team will look to make it three in a row this season.
 
The Yellowjackets open their year with two exhibition matches at home, starting with Minnesota Crookston Aug. 25 at 11 a.m. and bridge-rival St. Scholastica Aug. 28 at 7:30 p.m.
 
UW-Superior will then embark on a six-match road trip beginning with the Gusties from Gustavus Adolphus, beginning at 3 p.m. Sept. 1. Two days later, they will face off against Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) foe UW-Stout at 5 p.m. at Nelson Field.
 
The 'Jackets continue their road trip with two mid-week matches, beginning with Augsburg Sept. 6 at 7:30 p.m. On Sept. 12, they will face the Falcons from UW-River Falls at 4:30 p.m. at Ramer Soccer Stadium.
 
The Yellowjackets will kick off UMAC play Sept. 13 with a 3:30 p.m. start against North Central in Minneapolis, followed by a meeting with the Cougars from Minnesota Morris Sept. 16 at 4:30 p.m. The Yellowjackets hold a win streak of 11 games against the Rams and a win streak of eight against the Cougars.
 
The Yellowjackets return to the NBC Spartan Sports Complex on Sept. 19 to take on Northwestern with a kick-off of 7 p.m. On Sept. 23, the Vikings from Bethany Lutheran will come to Superior for a 4:30 p.m. match. The 'Jackets then hit the road for a mid-week match against Northland at 7 p.m. on Sept. 27.
 
UW-Superior will then play a four-match home stand beginning Sept. 30 with a 4:30 kickoff against Martin Luther, followed with back-to-back matches against Crown on Oct. 3 at 3:30 p.m. and Macalester on Oct. 4 at 4:30 p.m. Senior day will take place against Minnesota Morris on Oct. 7 for a 2 p.m. match.
 
UWS will travel to St. Paul to face Northwestern Oct. 11 at 4:30 p.m., followed by a match against Bethany Lutheran Oct. 14 at Scheels Field. The 'Jackets will face off against St. Scholastica for their last non-conference match of the season Oct. 15 at 2 p.m. at Saints Field, then return home to face the Rams from North Central Oct. 18 at 1 p.m.
 
UWS hits the road Oct. 21 to face Martin Luther at 1 p.m. at MLC Soccer Field, then returns home against Northland Oct. 25 at 7:30 p.m. The Yellowjackets will face Crown Oct. 28 at Old National Bank Stadium in their last regular season match at 1 p.m.
 
The Yellowjackets finished the 2022 season with an overall record of 15-4-4 and advanced to the first round of the NCAA Division III Championship for the second time in program history, falling to the Duhawks of Loras College.
