RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The Yellowjacket women's soccer team continued its non-conference slate, facing the Falcons from UW-River Falls. Dating back to 1994, today's match marked the 28th meeting between the two teams. Tuesday's match resulted in a 0-0 decision, as neither team was able to find the back of the net.
This is the first time in history the 'Jackets and Falcons played to a draw.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Quinn Clark (Duluth Minn./Duluth East) earned her first clean sheet of the season Tuesday. She stopped five Falcon shots, increasing her save percentage to .900 for the season and her total saves to 18.
Forwards
Mya Holmquist (Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo) and
Niya Wilson (Superior, Wis./Superior Senior) accounted for the three Yellowjacket shots on target, but goalkeeper Kaylie Krueger held her own in net for the Falcons.
Both teams stayed consistent with their total shots, with the 'Jackets firing three shots in each half of play and the Falcons with five in each half. River Falls held a 5-3 edge on corner kicks and led in fouls, 11-4.
Offensively Lauren Best led the charge for the Falcons with three shots on net.
The Yellowjackets (0-2-1, 0-0-0 UMAC) enter conference play tomorrow as they face North Central. Kickoff at Eliot Park Field is slated for 3:30 p.m.
