River Falls Rallies in Third to Defeat Yellowjackets

SUPERIOR, Wis. – The Yellowjacket women's hockey team was back on home ice Thursday, and they entered the stretch drive of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) season, with all seven of their remaining games coming against conference foes. The first test was a difficult one, as the Yellowjackets hosted UW-River Falls, who came into the game as the No. 1 team in the nation.

The Yellowjackets went toe-to-toe with the Falcons and had the lead after two periods, but River Falls scored four times in the third period to come from behind and defeat the Yellowjackets 4-1 at Wessman Arena.

Jenna Hoops (Woodbury, Minn./Visitation School) scored the only goal of the game for the Yellowjackets, breaking a scoreless tie with 2:53 to play in the second period.

Rose Beeman (Minneapolis, Minn./Benilde-St. Margaret's School) got the start in goal for the Yellowjackets and finished the game with 37 saves.
