MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The UW-Superior men's soccer team hit the road and returned to action Tuesday afternoon at Eliot Park Field. The Yellowjackets faced off against North Central, a competitor in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC), and delivered a commanding performance, resulting in a 6-0 win.
On a beautiful fall day, the Yellowjackets kicked off against the Rams and struck early with a quick goal in the first half. In the 10th minute of the match,
Felipe Oliveira (Belo Horizonte, Brazil/Colegio Soma) skillfully maneuvered around a Rams' defender in the right corner of the field. He then found Orlando Fetleman positioned perfectly in front of the net. With precision, Fetleman executed a perfectly-placed shot to the left side, giving the Yellowjackets a 1-0 lead.
Kyle Massingham (Nuneaton, England/Future Pro College) delivered a standout performance, scoring two goals within 30 seconds of each other and providing an assist on the Yellowjackets' third goal of the match.
After this afternoon's win, the Yellowjackets are now 12-3-2 overall and 11-0-0 in UMAC action. UWS remains at the top of the UMAC standings, sitting in first place above Bethany Lutheran.

Alex Paredes (Mequon, Wis./Homestead) started the match and improved his record to 10-3-2. He faced five attempted shots, making four saves to his to secure to seventh shutout of the season.
Match Notes
- Jake Kidd (Superior, Wis./Superior) extended the Yellowjackets' lead 2-0 in the 18th minute of the match. Following a corner kick, Kidd seized the opportunity when the Rams attempted to clear the ball. He skillfully placed a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, and just to the left of the goalpost.
- With 20 minutes left in the second half, the Yellowjackets netted four goals in under five minutes.
- Nicolai Stokker (Klokkarstua, Norway/St. Hallvard) opened the scoring for the Yellowjackets in the second half with a well-executed goal. After receiving a perfectly timed pass from Theo Figueiredo (Cuiaba, Brazil/EE Marcelina de Campos), Stokker skillfully split the Rams' defenders and fired a low, precise shot into the bottom left corner of the net. This goal fueled the Yellowjackets' momentum giving them a 3-0 lead.
- Two minutes later, following a corner kick that was knocked down by the Rams' defense, Massingham quickly collected the loose ball and fired it into the back of the net.
- Just 30 seconds later, Stokker unleashed a powerful shot at the net, which the Rams' goalkeeper managed to save. However, Massingham, positioned perfectly in front of the goal, pounced on the rebound and drove it home for his second goal of the match, and the lead increased.
- Off another corner kick, the Yellowjackets attempted a header, which the Rams tried to clear. However, Finley Purnell (Northampton, England/Southam College) intercepted the clearance and drilled the ball past the goalkeeper into the center of the net, sealing the Yellowjackets' final goal.
The Yellowjackets are back in action Saturday, Oct. 26 with more UMAC action when they host Martin Luther. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at the Superior Choice Credit Union Stadium.Â
