SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) revealed its postseason award winners for the 2024 season, and four members of the Yellowjacket women's cross country team were recognized.
The trio of freshman
Simone Stephens (Scottsdale, Ariz./Saguaro), alongside junior
Cora Hudella (North Branch, Minn./North Branch Area) and senior
Tea Boerner (Owatonna, Minn./Owatonna) picked up All-UMAC First Team citations, while sophomore
Lilley Smith (Ironwood, Mich./Ironwood) grabbed second team honors.
After grabbing a team score of 47 and the program's second straight conference title in program history, Yellowjacket head coach
Glen Drexler was honored as the UMAC Coach of the Year.
UW-Superior placed three runners in the top-five, which was led by Stephens in third place. She logged a 23:29.0 while Hudella and Boerner followed with race times of 23:59.3 and 24:06.1, respectively. Smith took 12th place overall as she garnered a 25:16.0 on the afternoon.
The Yellowjackets will return to the course Saturday, Nov. 16 at the NCAA Division III North Regional Championship. Action commences at 11 a.m.
