MORRIS, Minn. – The Yellowjacket men's basketball team traveled down to James Gremmels Court Friday to take on the Cougars of Minnesota Morris. The 'Jackets came into the contest as the No. 2 seed within the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) and were looking to escape the logjam with Crown and North Central.
The 'Jackets finished the first half of play with a 12-point deficit but scratched their way back into the game courtesy of
Reid Johnson (Chatfield, Minn./Chatfield),
Josef Fahrenholtz (Chatfield, Minn./Chatfield) and
J'Vaun Walker (Rosharon, Texas/Manvel). When the 'Jackets started to gain momentum in the second half, the Cougars would respond with points of their own. Nevertheless, UWS was responsible for the final 19 points of the contest, coming from behind to secure the 70-59 victory.
