ORLANDO – The Yellowjacket women's tennis team got itself back in the win column Wednesday, rolling past Illinois Wesleyan in impressive fashion, 9-0 at the United States Tennis Association National Campus.

With the win, the Yellowjackets not only pick up their first win in Florida, but also moved their record back to the .500 mark for the year, improving to 7-7.

Jessi Kukowski (Duluth, Minn./Hermantown) and
Kate Jonas (Annandale, Minn./Annandale) got the day off to a great start Wednesday, blanking the Illinois Wesleyan duo of Macy Michorczyk and Marianna Arias 8-0 at No. 3 doubles.

In singles action,
Daylyn Drew (Negaunee, Mich./Negaunee) was dominant. The sophomore cruised past Arias at No. 6 singles without losing a game, 6-0, 6-0.
Maya Haupt (Nuertingen, Baden-Wuerttemberg/Hoelderlin Gymnasium Nuertingen) also had a perfect set in her match at No. 2 singles, where she defeated Olivia Bell 6-0, 6-2.

Curtis, Jonas and
Giulia Araujo De Barros (Curitiba, Brazil/Colegio Sabre) also were victorious in straight sets in singles play.

Match Notes
- Andreina Tejada (Quito, Ecuador/Isaac Newton) teamed with Haupt and were pushed to 7-7 at No. 1 doubles before taking he match by winning the tiebreaker 7-1.
- Claudia Curtis (Lake Mills, Wis./Lake Mills) and Brooke Wilfong (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Tech) had little trouble at No. 2 doubles, winning 8-5.
- After winning the opening set 6-4 at No. 3 singles, Curtis took the match by winning the second set 7-6.
- Araujo De Barros swept her match by identical 6-4, 6-4 scores.
- Jonas cruised at No. 5 singles, winning 6-2, 6-1.
- With her win, Drew reached the .500 mark for the season, improving to 4-4.
- Drew also extended her win streak in singles play to three straight.
- Curtis, Haupt and Tejada all won their eighth singles match of the season.
- Wilfong is now 5-3 in doubles play this season, including a 4-2 mark when teamed up with Curtis.
The Yellowjackets return to action Thursday when they take on Franciscan at the Oak Street Tennis Courts in Kissimmee, Fla. The first serve is set for 10 a.m.
